Miniature Bronze-Framed Vignette with Mechanical Scene and Clock

4" (10 cm.) x 3". A heavy cast frame arranged on an easel encloses a dimensional scene of three merrymaking couples posed in front of the village, a clock tower in the background above an open-front room in which is a silver winged cherub. An attached winding mechanism at the back presumably works the clock as well as creates a charming movement of the cherub. Structurally excellent, clock and movements need adjustment. There is an inscribed notation on the back side indicating the title "...du village" and "fabr. suisse". Late 1800s.
