20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 8 (head, and artist checkmarks). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1886. Value Points: early presentation of the tete model has superb gleaming complexion which enhances the deeply-modeled features, rare applied ears on this model for this size, original body and body finish, wearing original burgundy silk dress with lace overskirt, matching undergarments, burgundy socks, black leather shoes with brown rosettes, and lavish woven bonnet with burgundy trim and feathers.
