26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head with perfectly oval face of older child, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, dark rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked widely-arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, Jumeau blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 225 Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 12 (head) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1892, from his "Series Fantastique", this was the final model made in that series; a similar Jumeau bebe appeared shortly thereafter, marketed as Bebe Francais. Few examples of the marked 225 model are known to exist. Value Points: extremely rare doll, in pristine unplayed with condition, superb gleaming bisque, original body and body finish, original Jumeau rose silk dress with lace trim, pleated balayeuse, matching bonnet, Jumeau earrings, undergarments, stockings, rose kidskin shoes impressed "12 E. Jumeau Med d'Or Paris", wooden handled rose silk parasol, and preserved in original box with unique color-tinted label.
