11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, large brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner and painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, painted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1880, closely resembling the early French bebe whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: especially lovely petite doll with enchanting large eyes, original body and body finish, lovely antique costume.
