Bisque socket head, bright blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, cork pate, Steiner composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Steiner Bte SGDG Paris 4 (head) Le Petit Parisienne Bebe Steiner (body). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890. Value Points: sought-after petite size bebe has lovely original dress from Au Nain Bleu, indicating that the prestige Paris toy store likely first offered the doll at the end of the 1800s; with beautiful eyes and expression, original signed body.
