Description
2 1/2" (6 cm.) x 2" paintings. 6' x 5 1/2" frames. The matched portraits, posed facing each other, depict a lady and gentleman, she with elaborate coiffure decorated with a fancy comb, and wearing a low-necked white gown decorated with an orange sash, and with coral necklace and earrings; and he with high-necked shirt with vest, black bow-tie, black fitted jacket with buttons, and having distinctive brushed forward hair and goatee, and shadowed moustache. In matching gilt brass inner frames with wide burled walnut outer frames. Excellent condition. Circa 1820.
