28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with rich dark coloring, dark eyeliner encircling the eye sockets, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled and pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, early kid poupee body with shapely torso and one piece shaped legs and arms, stitched and separated fingers, wearing an ivory gown with lace inserts and bead trim at the bodice, satin skirt and sash, coronet of wax flowers, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1867, the large model of his portrait lady may have been presented at the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Value Points: rare early model especially rare in this luxury large size; the doll is notable for exquisite subtlety of blush and sculpting lending a distinctive portrait look.
