17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with pale complexion, blushed detail and glazed finish, painted blue eyes with shaded detail, thick black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, delicately painted lashes, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, un-pierced ears, lambswool wig over cork pate, plump kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at the hips and knees, porcelain arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Adelaide Huret, one of the earliest models of her landmark doll, circa 1855. Value Points: wonderful example of the beloved doll, with beautiful complexion and painting, wearing original white pique skirt and jacket decorated with red soutache embroidery, with undergarments, red velvet and silk faille bonnet, red leather slippers, and carrying an elegant red linen purse with cord, elaborate tassels, and with gold metallic thread fleur-de-lis.
