The enameled metal box with oval domed center lid is decorated with rich Sevres blue and gold leaf that encircle a scene on each side and a full lid scene with oval lid having scene of two women and baby lamb. When wound and lever released, the bird lid opens and the bird appears to sing in perfect synchonization to the movement of his beak, wings and rotating body. Mechanism and song function well.
