The human- sized bisque head has very slender facial modeling and elongated strong throat, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes with dot highlights, brushstroked and multi- fringed brows, rose blushed eyeshadow, aquiline nose with shaded nostrils, accented eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, strong chin with dimpled detail, brunette human hair over cork pate, with antique lambswool cap. The head is mounted upon original ebony wood platform for display. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B. Bru No.3 (back of head). Comments: Bru, circa 1890,Bru Jne & Cie produced a very exclusive line of bisque heads, on commission, for the display windows of coiffeurs, milliners and jewelers. Value Points: very rare signed milliner's head by the Bru firm with rare original stand, very fine quality of bisque and painting.
