18" (46 cm.) x 11"h. x 7"d. The wooden-framed schoolroom opens to reveal a well-fitted scene with study posters on the walls, teacher's desk with globe of the world, large slate board for teacher, two small slate boards, dunce desk, and three double desks with attached benches. Along with seven German all-bisque dolls with glass eyes, jointed limbs and original school costumes. Condition: generally excellent except wear to lithographed floor paper. Comments: French, circa 1900. Value Points: charming setting with bisque dolls and detailed accessories; the room, with architectural schoolroom details on the front closed panel, is designed with slant "roof" to also function as an actual writing desk surface for young child.
