Description
Of finely woven sheer muslin the two-piece gown comprises a finely gathered skirt with ruffled hemline, the ruffle enclosing a wide rose silk band, and a fitted jacket with lined bodice that closes with hooks and eyes at the front. The long- sleeved jacket has ruffled cuffs, very long jacket tails that form deep scallops and are edged with ruffled trim that matches the skirt hem. There is a matching ruffle at the neckline, and a rose silk rosette trims the collar and forms a cascading arrangement at the back waist. The skirt is slightly trained at the back. Included with the gown is a delicately woven straw basket with rose silk lining. Appropriately sized for poupee about 13"_14". Circa 1868.
