Pink tinted porcelain shoulder head with plump facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointed hips, porcelain arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Brevete SGDG D.D. Comments; Duval-Denis, successors to Blampoix, the firm appears to have been in business for two years only, 1861-1863. Value Points: the rarity of the early poupee with signed body is rivaled by her delicate beauty and fine quality of porcelain. Included with the doll is a domed doll trunk and an extensive trousseau of the era comprising a white pique gown, white mousseline gown, another muslin gown with printed blue dots, four other various gowns with some wear, velvet cape with fur trim, red wool jacket with cape, royal blue woolen mariner suit with nautical theme embroidery, unusual bathing suit with blue silk ruffles, maroon woolen coat, grey felt jacket, undergarments including 2 dainty chemises, 5 night shifts, blouse, 3 corsets, gaiters, shoes, 3 pairs stockings, blue hood, bonnet, sun bonnet, and various accessories.
