The handsome French lieutenant stood proudly, his crimson military jacket bearing medals that attest to his illustrious career. His stunning bride, who now made her regal way down the aisle, adorned in an ivory satin wedding gown in the style of au courant from 1904. Featured alongside the bride and groom are antique bisque dolls, Bleuettes, fashions and American composition dolls. 8.5" x 8.5". Softbound. 108 full-color pages.

30" (76 cm). Pale bisque shoulderhead with rounded facial modeling, cornflower blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, lightly accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth, richly accented lips, unpierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, separately stitched fingers, nicely costumed in early gold taffeta gown, undergarments, shoes, bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, original firing line below the chin, few body patches. Marks: E. 11 Depose. Comments: Barrois, circa 1865. Value Points: included with the beautiful poupee is her trunk with label from Au Nain Bleu and a large assortment of accessories acquired in her early life in America and France, viz. bone-handled parasol, wooden handled fan, two small trunks, unusual woven base sac du voyage, three fans, two additional bonnets, silver hand mirror and jar in original box, velvet and gilt purse, silver and mother of pearl purse, sewing box with tiny thimble and hook, silver rattle, bone-handled seal, tin coin box, hourglass shaped basket, bone dominoes in wooden barrel, wooden needlebase inscribed "with my best wishes", two pairs of gloves, three corsets, Burson socks in original box (for smaller doll), bone-handled wooden tape measure, pocket watch, diary, and fine embossed brass and silver opera glasses in original case. An amusing and well detailed family provenance accompanies the doll named "Patience".
