In 19th century France, candy was dandy, but candy presented in an elegant or whimsical or downright funny box was even better. Fancey boites de bon-bons, known simply as candy boxes, prevailed in Paris from at least the early part of the century, and so precious were the boxes that after the candy was gone, the box was saved and cherished for generations. Featured, along with candy box dolls, are rare French bébés and poupées from private estates, and German character dolls. 8.5" x 11". Softbound. 128 full-color pages.
