Pressed bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush stroked and feathered brows, mauve blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, separately applied and pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose E. 8 J. (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Jumeau, commissioned as "articles exclusives" (box label) by Magasin des Enfants, Passage de l'Opera in Paris, circa 1885. Value Points: pristine unplayed with condition, the exquisitely painted bebe has original wig, pate, maroon silk hair ribbon, maroon earrings and necklace, chemise with maroon label "Bebe Jumeau" and maroon trim, leather shoes with silver butterfly trim, original box with labels from both Jumeau and Magasin des Enfants, and with original trunk containing a large original trousseau, comprising pale green silk faille dress, pale green woolen dress with lavish lace, knit dress with silk ribbons, white organdy dress, white pique dress, brown woolen coat, straw bonnet, silk bonnet, and various undergarments. The trunk has brass plaque with name of doll "Helene Revel".
